An alarming scandal has surfaced in Punjab where multiple doctors have allegedly submitted fake documents to apply for the prestigious post of Medical Superintendent (MS). The Punjab Health Department has initiated a formal investigation and has ordered 10 doctors, including three women, to submit a reply within three days.
The health department reports that doctors from Aziz Bhatti Hospital in Gujrat, Nishtar Hospital Multan, Shahdara Hospital, Lady Willingdon Hospital Lahore, and Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Bahawalpur are involved in this malpractice. Shockingly, the acting MS of Aziz Bhatti Hospital is also among those accused.
According to the show-cause notices, the doctors allegedly submitted fake diplomas in Public Health to meet the eligibility criteria for the MS position. The role requires a Master’s degree in Public Health or equivalent diploma, which many candidates falsely claimed in their applications.
This raises serious concerns about the integrity of documentation and verification processes in medical institutions. The Punjab Health Department is now scrutinizing all submissions and has warned of strict action against those found guilty.
This incident not only undermines the credibility of the healthcare system but also highlights the urgent need for stringent background checks and document authentication in the hiring process.
