NORTH CAROLINA CRIME REPORT

Lumberton: While Lumberton has quaint, quiet streets and nice shopping. According to the FBI Crime Report your chance of being victim to property crime here is 1 in 16. Lumberton has also made a top 20 list of the most violent cities in America.

Kinston: You might have passed through Kinston on your way to the beach. While this quiet town is home to some killer 'joints' and restaurants....it also has a history of violence.
Henderson: While this tiny city near the VA border is working tirelessly to improve its crime rankings, some criminals cannot be stopped. Formally number two on most FBI crime lists, Henderson is still home to staggering property crimes.

Laurinburg: While this small town on the SC boarder has gone down in its property crimes...violent crimes have gone up.
Statesville: While I went to college with several friends from Statesville...and have found it both charming and quaint, sometimes you just can't argue with statistics. Statesville ties with Laurinburg on this list and could possibly be more dangerous.

ABOUT NORTH CAROLINA

North is a state in the southeastern region of the United States. The state borders South Carolina and Georgia to the south, Tennessee to the west, Virginia to the north, and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. North Carolina is the 28th most extensive and the 9th most populous of the 50 United States. North Carolina is known as the Tar Heel State and the Old North State.

The state is composed of 100 counties. Its two largest metropolitan areas are among the top ten fastest-growing in the country: its capital, Raleigh, and its largest city, Charlotte. In the past five decades, North Carolina's economy has undergone a transition from reliance upon tobacco, textiles, and furniture-making to a more diversified economy with engineering, energy, biotechnology, and finance sectors.

The climate of the coastal plains is strongly influenced by the Atlantic Ocean. Most of the state falls in the humid subtropical climate zone. More than 300 miles (500 km) from the coast to the western, mountainous part of the state has a subtropical highland climate.

North Carolina is bordered by South Carolina on the south, Georgia on the southwest, Tennessee on the west, Virginia on the north, and the Atlantic Ocean on the east. The United States Census Bureau classifies North Carolina as a southern state within the subcategory of the South Atlantic States.
